VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 35 new cases Tuesday, raising the active case count to 206.
There were no deaths in the region, keeping the total at 159.
Out of 8,163 total cases in the region, 7,796 have recovered.
There were 239 vaccine doses given in the region since Monday, bringing the total number of doses given to 313,504.
B.C. added 501 new cases Tuesday, raising the active case count to 5,296.
There are 111 people in hospital, 51 of whom are in critical care.
There was one COVID-19 death reported Tuesday, bringing the provincial total to 1,781.
Out of 157,014 cases recorded since last March, 149,847 have recovered.
With 17,078 vaccine doses given since Monday, the provincial total dose count sits at 7,248,039. Of those, 3,408,481 are second doses.
There are more active cases five months into the mass vaccination program than there were in March when the rollout began.
When the vaccine rollout began on March 15th, there were 1,506 new cases over three previous days and 4,987 active cases. The seven-day average of daily deaths was 2.29.
On August 15th, B.C. recorded 1,434 cases over three days with 5,090 active cases. The seven-day average of daily deaths is 0.43.
