VICTORIA, B.C. – There were 13 new cases recorded Thursday in the Northern Health Region, setting the active case count at 116.
There are two people in hospital, both are in critical care.
There were no COVID-19 deaths in the region Thursday, keeping the total at 159.

Out of 7,994 total cases recorded since last March, 7,718 have since recovered.
With 1,331 vaccine doses given since Wednesday, the total number of doses given in the region sits at 310,057. Of those, 139,888 are second doses.
The province added 513 new cases Thursday, pushing the active case count to 3,834.
There are 81 people in hospital, 33 of whom are in critical care.
There was one COVID-19 death in B.C. recorded Thursday, moving the provincial total to 1,779.
Out of 154,362 cases in the province, 148,702 have recovered.
There were 26,946 vaccine doses given since Wednesday, bringing the total number of doses given in B.C. to 7,141,196. Of those, 3,320,644 are second doses.
Canada’s top doctor says projections from a week ago that hinted at a fourth wave have come to fruition. The fourth wave —mainly driven by the Delta variant— is a reality.
“The latest national surveillance data indicate that a fourth wave is underway in Canada and that cases are plotting along a strong resurgence trajectory,” said Tam.
COVID-19 related deaths remain low, something Tam says vaccines are protecting against.
