VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 12 new cases Wednesday, raising the active case count to 116.
There is one person in hospital, the individual is in critical care.
With no COVID-19 deaths recorded Wednesday, the regional total stays at 159.
Of the 7,981 cases recorded since last March, 7,706 have since recovered.
There were 1,229 vaccine doses given since Tuesday, meaning 308,726 doses have been administered in the region. Of those, 138,887 are second doses.
British Columbia recorded 536 new cases Wednesday, raising the active case count to 3,585.
There are 72 people in hospital, 72 of whom are in critical care.
There was one COVID-19 death added Wednesday, bringing the provincial total to 1,778.
Since last March, 153,849 cases have been recorded in B.C. Of those, 148,446 have recovered.
Since Tuesday, 26,514 vaccine doses were given in the province, meaning 7,114,250 doses have been given since December 2020. Of those, 3,298,490 are second doses.
According to the BC CDC Weekly Data Summary on August 5th, 1,073 residents who were unvaccinated, 511 residents with one vaccine dose, and 99 residents with both vaccine doses tested positive for COVID-19 between June 24th and July 24th.
