FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fair Grounds for the 99th Dawson Creek Exhibition & Stampede opened Wednesday.

The grounds opened at 11 a.m. for Sneak a Peak, and the event will cap off with the $30,000 World Professional Chuckwagon Association Dash for Cash Sunday night.

While there will be no midway, there will be a full agricultural fair, viewing zoo, CPRA rodeo, All-Pro Chuckwagons and World Professional Chuckwagons.

The parade will be Friday at 10 a.m. through downtown Dawson Creek.

Chris LeBlanc will be the feature artist at the Waterin’ Hole from Thursday to Saturday, and on Sunday morning there will be a gospel festival from 9 a.m. to noon.

The members of Rodeo Royalty along with the clowns will host a picnic in the park across from Kid’s zone on Sunday at 11:30 a.m.

According to a post on Facebook, proof of vaccination is not required to attend, but there will be a mobile vaccination clinic on Friday and Saturday for those who wish to get their shot.

Tickets are available for purchase online or at the gate, but online is encouraged. Go to the event website to purchase tickets.

Waterin’ Hole tickets are only available for purchase at the gate.

Fireworks shows start at 10:30 p.m. each night.
