FORT NELSON, B.C. – The evacuation order issued by the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality for the Helmut area has been rescinded.

The NRRM hasn’t stated the reason for pulling the order, but the evacuation alert issued on August 2nd remains in effect in the area.

There are still four wildfires near Fort Nelson, ranging from 15 to 465 hectares.

The evacuation order process will re-commence if it needs to be reissued, says the NRRM.

The NRRM also declared a state of emergency before the order, and it will remain in effect until August 10th.

For more information, contact the NRRM at 250-774-2541, or keep up to date through their website.

There are 60 active wildfires in the Prince George Fire Centre.
