FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation has created a new program as a way to say “thank you” for excellent patient care.

The Grateful Patient was established so patients could thank or honour a staff member, caregiver, or an entire team of caregivers who made a difference for a patient or loved one.

“We want to hear about a member of our Hospital healthcare team that has touched your life who went above and beyond in their duties to make someone feel nurtured and cared for. It is not always easy to thank an individual, a team or a department that has provided exceptional care when you are going through a difficult time,” says Niki Hedges, Executive Director of the FSJHF.

“If patients want to pass it forward, they will be able to choose an area of care that matters to them through any one of the Foundations four funds; Greatest Needs Fund, Peace Villa Fund, Cancer Diagnostic and  Treatment Fund, or the Eastern Star Children’s Fund, to support ongoing hospital equipment needs and technologies for our patients and the community through the Grateful Patient Program, and honour the person who played a significant role in someone’s care.”

The patient or a family member can share a story of the care they received or make a charitable contribution to the Foundation to highlight the great care they were given at the Hospital or Peace Villa by contacting the Hospital Foundation at 250-261-7563.
