VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added three new cases Friday, dropping the active case count to 10.
There are four people in hospital, all are in critical care.
There were no deaths recorded Friday, keeping the total at 157.
Out of 7,816 total cases, 7,648 have recovered.
There were 2,543 vaccine doses recorded Friday, bringing the total number of doses given to 285,703. Of those, 120,180 are second doses.
The province added 112 new cases Friday, moving the active case count to 603.
There are 46 people in hospital, 17 of whom are in critical care.
There were four COVID-19 deaths recorded Friday, bringing the provincial total to 1,767.
Of the 148,842 cases since last March, 146,463 have since recovered.
There were 60,876 vaccine doses recorded Friday, bringing the total number of doses given in B.C. to 6,422,503. Of those, 2,693,582 are second doses.
Health Minister Adrian Dix announced 96 per cent of the COVID-19 cases recorded between June 15th and July 15th were among people who had either one or no vaccine doses.
“If you take all the cases from June 15 to July 15, 78 per cent of those cases are among those who are unvaccinated,” Dix said.
All health authorities have been coming up with strategies to add to the mass immunization clinics, including mobile and pop-up clinics at parks, amusement parks, and beaches.
