CHARLIE LAKE, B.C. – The City of FSJ says a portion of the Charlie Lake Boat Launch will be closed to boaters until a suitable fix can be done.
According to a Facebook post, the City has been receiving reports that maintenance repairs are required, so the right portion of the launch will be closed to avoid any further damage to the boat launch and personal property.
An application has been sent to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change to get the repairs done. There is no time frame for approval currently.
The other half of the boat launch is still available for use as well as the boat launch at Beatton Provincial Park, which is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m.
BC Parks set aside $150,000 to repair the Mile 54 boat launch at Charlie Lake that is scheduled to take place in August. This boat launch was closed to boaters in September 2018 due to the condition of the cement pads.
