DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District has released the preliminary results from the 2021 referendums.
The general voting day took place on Saturday, July 17th, for two new proposed services for the District.
The preliminary results for the Health Related Services Grant in Aid had a total of 538 votes, with 380 residents voting in favour of the grant while 158 voted no.
The Seniors Aging in Place Support Services results had 284 votes, with 196 residents voting for the service while 88 voted against.
The PRRD says the final results of the Referendums will be announced on Tuesday. If a majority of the votes received are in favour, the board will adopt the bylaw’s as the next step towards establishing the services.
