FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The North Peace Ride for the Disabled bottle drive is taking place next weekend.

The bottle drive takes place at 10 a.m. on July 31st at North Caribou Air. The drive will be happening until there are no more bottles to collect, and Lana Neitz, with North Cariboo Air, says pick-ups are also available.

In November, the organzation had to cease operations due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Neitz says they’re excited to get back into the swing of operations and already have a waitlist of riders looking to use their services.

Funding from the bottle drive will go towards daily operating and maintenance costs as well as purchasing helmets for those who don’t have one.

Anyone looking to drop off bottles before the event date can do so at the FSJ Return It by mentioning the funds are going towards the program’s drive.

Neitz can be reached to arrange a pick-up at 250-262-1847.

The North Peace Ride for the Disabled has been in operation since 1984, providing horseback riding for persons with a wide range of disabilities.

More information about the North Peace Ride for the Disabled can be found on their Facebook page.
