CHETWYND, B.C. – Chetwynd General Hospital has been put on diversion again.

Northern Health announced the diversion on its Facebook page and the suspension will take place July 13th until 7 p.m.

“The temporary suspension of emergency rooms services is necessary to ensure safe patient care,” says Northern Health in the post.

Community members who need emergency care should call 9-1-1 for transport to the next emergency department in Dawson Creek or Fort St. John, or seek out private transportation to these locations.

If a person is unsure whether their condition warrants a visit to the E.R, or needs health advice, HealthLink BC offers non-emergency health information from nurses, dietitians, and pharmacists 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

As an alternate option, patients can also contact the Northern Health Virtual Clinic at 1-844-615-7811.
