FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John petroleum Association hosted its first event of 2021 on July 10thwith the 38th annual Oilmen’s Trapshoot.
The event was similar to last year, with only 45 shooters at the North Peace Rod and Gun Club. Previous years saw around 100 shooters during the event.
Participants pushed through the morning rain and shot 100 single rounds, followed by 50 handicap rounds in the afternoon. This year, the event had a poker shoot which earned Shane Stirling a cooler for winning.
The winners in the high team category were Rapid Wireline, as they finished with 658 points and in second place with 632 points was Redneck Communications.
The high overall winner was Garth Wilson with 139 points.
“This was the only event the Fort St. John petroleum association has held so far this year due to COVID- 19, and I would like to personally thank all the sponsors and members of the petroleum association for supporting us through these past challenging years,” said trapshoot committee member Nicholas Wick.
“I hope to see you all next year at the 39th annual trapshoot, where I hope to return to a full capacity.”
