HUDSONS’S HOPE, B.C – The Peace Valley Folk Fest has finalized its lineup and has only made 300 tickets available.

Organizer Ben Waechter says the festival can allow a larger capacity but is limiting the tickets this year due to the short time frame.

“We want to offer high quality and don’t have the time to serve more than that,” said Waechter.

The festival has partnered with Mighty Peace Brewery for a beer garden. Art and food vendors are also confirmed for the event.

“We have confirmed some food vendors, pizza, poutine, a vegetarian option, kettle corn, lemonade, awesome homemade popsicles.”

The festival’s lineup will feature 18 different performance groups ranging from solo artists to 7 piece bands.

The event lineup features artists from across the Peace Region including, Airik Clark, Danny Bell and His Disappointments, Naomi Shore, and Rose Prairie Romance.

With the festival aiming for a family-friendly environment, Kiki the Eco Elf will be performing for children.

“She hosts 40 kids in a 45-foot inflatable salmon and teaches them about salmons lifecycle, habitat, and some cool stories.”

Waechter says over half the tickets have been sold and encourages potential festival-goers to grab tickets sooner than later.

Anyone wanting to volunteer at the festival can click here. Waechter says volunteers who help out for around eight hours will get a weekend pass.

The event was supposed to occur last July, but, like most summer events, it was cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The weekend-long festival will be taking place from August 6th to 8th at 10801 Dudley Drive, Hudson’s Hope.

More information can be found on the Festival’s website or Facebook event page.
