FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Women’s Resource Society is again looking to the community for help with donations.

The Society is looking for items to beat the heatwave, including bottled water, Gatorade, Powerade, sunscreen, sun hats. Another important item the Society is looking for is bags of ice.

“We’re looking for anything that we can be used to cool people down. If you happen to come across a bag of ice please swing by the main office,” said Outreach Coordinator Lisa Jewell.

The organization went through six full flats of water for their clients and drop-ins in the past few days.

Over the past few months, the WRS has seen a high demand at its outreach store and haven ran out of food donations on a few occasions.

The outreach store had 1039 residents access food services in April and 865 between May 3rd to 18th.
