VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added one new case on Thursday, dropping the active case count to 48.

There are seven people in hospital, four of whom are in critical care.

There were no COVID-19 deaths Thursday, keeping the regional total at 155.

Of the 7,798 confirmed cases in the region, 7,594 have recovered.

There were 4,832 vaccine doses given since the last report, bringing the total number of doses in the region to 218,625.

British Columbia added 75 new cases Thursday, moving the active case count to 1,111.

There are 113 people in hospital, 34 of whom are in critical care.

There were three COVID-19 deaths across B.C. on Thursday, moving the total to 1,747.

Of the 147,346 total cases recorded since last March, 144,466 have since recovered.

There were 81,934 vaccine doses given in the province since the last report, bringing the total number of shots given to 4,652,087.

British Columbia’s first dose vaccine coverage rose above 75 per cent on Thursday, and 25 per cent of residents have been given their second shot, according to provincial health officials.

Dr. Bonnie Henry announced 4.5 million doses have been given across the province, with more than one million second doses.
