FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Tyler Joshua Drapeau is facing two charges for allegedly soliciting sexual touching from children, according to the BC Prosecution Service.
The two charges include invitation to sexual touching with a person under 16 and attempting to obtain sexual services from a person under 18.
Drapeau had his second court appearance in Williams Lake Tuesday morning after being arrested by Fort St. John RCMP on Saturday.
The detachment said the incident took place at a park in the 11000-block of 96 Street. Mounties say a man had tried to solicit sexual touching from two children in exchange for a video game card. Police located a man in a nearby vehicle who was arrested without incident.
While we are thankful to have received the quick report and were able to arrest this man at the scene, this is a reminder to speak to your children about such incidents. The children in this case did exactly as we would ask, and that is to immediately tell a trusted adult, said S/Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of the BC RCMP.
The case is under a court-ordered publication ban.
