DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Dawson Creek Walmart arsonist Nathan Colin Whynot will be heading back to court Wednesday, with a date to be set for sentencing.
Whynot pled guilty to the crime in March, with the courts accepting his plea.
When the original plea was entered in October 2020 and then thrown out, Whynot fired his lawyer. Hon. David St. Pierre also struck the original plea from the record, noting Whynot showed little remorse and no responsibility for the crime, attempting to expedite the court proceedings.
A psychiatric report was ordered for Whynot in March but remains incomplete, according to court services.
