FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The City’s Canada Day parade will look slightly different this year compared to previous years.
With COVID-19 Public Health Order’s still in place, the city has opted for a drive-thru parade style. This style means floats will be parked on both sides of the street, and there will be one-way traffic going through.
The location of this drive-thru parade will be on 111th Street and 89th Avenue between Old Fort Road and 109th Street.
Businesses, non-profits, or other organizations that wish to put a float in the parade can do so by filling out an application on the City’s website.
Float drop-offs can be done on June 30th from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. or on July 1st from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m., and the City will be providing overnight security on-site.
The parade itself will be open on July 1st from noon until 7 p.m., which should give time for everyone looking to view the floats to do so safely from your vehicle.
More information on Canada Day Celebrations can be viewed on the City’s website.
