VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 15 new cases over the weekend, including nine from Sunday to Monday.

The active case count in the region sits at 79.

There are eight people in hospital, five of whom are in critical care.

There were no COVID-19 deaths over the weekend, keeping the total at 153.

Of the 7,719 confirmed cases in the north, 7,486 have recovered.

The province added 481 cases over the weekend. There were 218 cases from Friday to Saturday, 131 cases from Saturday to Sunday, and 133 from Sunday to Monday.

The active case count for the province is 2,102.

There are 199 people in hospital, 63 of whom are in critical care.

There were 12 COVID-19 deaths across the province over the weekend, bringing the total to 1,722.

Out of 145,530 total cases in British Columbia, 141,663 have since recovered.

Northern Health issued COVID-19 school exposure notices on Monday for two schools in SD 60.

Upper Pine Elementary had an exposure notice for June 1st.

Anne Roberts Young Elementary had an exposure notice for May 31st.

Northern Health says the Dawson Creek vaccine clinic will be accepting walk-ins.

Health officials still recommend registering and booking, but space is limited. Clinic staff can schedule appointments for anyone who doesn’t get in.

The next Dawson Creek vaccine clinic is June 8th to 11th, and June 15th to 18th from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Ovintiv Events Centre (formerly known as Encana Events Centre).
