DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – The Peace River Regional District has scholarships and bursaries up for grabs.

The healthcare scholarships are intended to help address the healthcare workers shortage in the region. These scholarships work to benefit those looking to pursue a career in healthcare. High school students can apply, and those looking to change careers or those already in healthcare are looking to upgrade their skills. There are six different scholarships to choose from, including:

The PRRD also has rural scholarships and bursaries distributed at the discretion of the Electoral Area Director. These awards are offered in these areas:

According to the PRRD website, applications are decided by a School District-appointed selection committee based on residency, academic standing, community involvement, financial need, and acceptance to a post-secondary institution.

The deadline is July 31st for those wishing to apply.
