FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Community members who have driven by Mathews Park lately may have wondered why the park and paths seem to be closed off.
The answer: city crews are taking the existing gravel trail and upgrading it to a paved lit trail.
The park upgrades were a part of phase 2 of the 92A Street project last year, which included upgrading the street between 87th to 89th Avenues adjacent to Mathews Park, constructing a trail in Mathews Park and the extension of the Sanitary Sewer upgrades to Alaska Highway.

The playground and basketball court are still open during the construction process.
