UPDATE: Northern Health sent an update on June 1tth saying there were 56 lab-confirmed cases, not 59. This is due to three cases not being associated with the outbreak.

FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Northern Health has provided an update to the Site C outbreak.

As of May 28th, there have been 56 lab-confirmed cases after ongoing monitoring and testing.  A total of 8 cases are active, with 51 recoveries.

Workers are still being screened, and contact tracing is still continuing. Confirmed cases and their close contacts are self-isolating, says Northern Health.

Enhanced outbreak measures are in place, including:

Northern Health Health Officers, Site C and its contractors, and WorkSafeBC continue to work closely in response to the outbreak and are monitoring the situation for any future clusters.

As of May 28th, there are 1,534 in camp at Site C, with 37 in isolation at camp, 40 in isolation at home, and 12 active COVID-19 cases.

Since March 1, 2020, there have been 122 confirmed cases of COVID-19 at Site C.
