DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – Kevin J. Johnston made a brief appearance in a Dawson Creek court Monday to speak to an assault charge.

His appearance comes after a March altercation with the manager of Dawson Creek No Frills.

Dawson Creek RCMP attended to the grocery store after reports of a disturbance. Johnston claimed Krane assaulted him, repeating the words “citizen’s arrest” while attempting to detain the No Frills manager. RCMP then took Johnston into custody.

He is expected in the courts later in May to fix future dates.

Alberta Health Services was also granted a restraining order concerning Johnston after he made threatening marks online toward the government organization.
