DAWSON CREEK, B.C. – A male suspected of crashing into Fitness for Life turned himself into Dawson Creek RCMP on May 13th.

The detachment says Derrick Turner was released and will appear in Dawson Creek Provincial Court on June 1st.

A warrant was issued for Turner’s arrest on April 7th.

The 38-year-old has formally been charged with:

Two women were injured during the crash.

The same vehicle matched the description of a possible impaired driver complaint before crashing into the gym. Police say the driver failed to pull over after an officer attempted a traffic stop after spotting the vehicle at the Esso gas station at 700 100b Avenue.

According to BC Court records, Turner is expected to make a court appearance on June 2nd in Fort St. John for separate charges, including assault and breach of probation.
