FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Intending to raise $1,000 for future animals surrendered from Hudson’s Hope, North Peace Forgotten Felines Society sold 52 bags of cat food Thursday.

Patricia Budgell of NPFFS delivered the bags to the Hudson’s Hope food bank.

The fundraiser came out of an anonymous 1,000-pound donation of cat food to the society. Project Holding Onto Hope is selling five-pound bags of cat food for donations to the Forgotten Felines Society.

“The bags may be kept by the purchaser or donated to the Friends of Hudson’s Hope Food Bank,” says Budgell. “Once the Hudson’s Hope Food Bank’s shelves are full, the remaining food can be donated to kickstart the Pet Pantry Program.”

More information about the Pet Pantry program is coming soon, but it will give families in the North Peace Region a little help keeping pets healthy at home.

So far, the 52 bags sold amounts to $260 for the Hudson’s Hope animals.

“If there are any businesses or individuals that would like to donate or participate in selling the bags, please email us or visit our Facebook page.”
