FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Hospital Foundation has chosen a tentative date to hold the Bluey Day head shave.

The plan is to wait until September 18th to do the in-person event, but there is an option to do the head shave virtually, says Niki Hedges, Executive Director of the Fort St. John Hospital Foundation.

“Registration for the 21 spaces we are permitted are full, however, we have additional participants who have elected to register and shave virtually,” says Hedges. “Those who are shaving virtually can shave anytime between May 15th and September 18th if they choose.”

The goal of the fundraiser is $100,000, which will pay for a SPECT/CT scanner for the Fort St. John Hospital.

This scanner plays an important role in screening, staging, follow-up, therapy planning, evaluation, and long-term surveillance of patients.

“We are encouraging everyone to continue growing their hair and to continue fundraising to help us reach $100K for the Foundation’s Cancer Diagnostic & Treatment Fund.”
