UPDATE: Services have been restored after a fibre cable was cut yesterday afternoon. The outage lasted approximately 12 hours.
FORT NELSON, B.C. – Due to telecommunications issues, the 10-digit local landline emergency telephone numbers are out of service in the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality.
The announcement was made Wednesday evening.
9-1-1 is also not working when dialed from local landlines.
For emergencies, dial 9-1-1 from a cellular device, and for fire rescue, call 1-250-775-1947.
