FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Not resting on her laurels, Cassandra Mervyn followed up her 2021 Arts & Culture Community Award by creating fun art craft kits for kids, just in time for Mother’s Day.

According to the City, the Arts and Culture Community Award recognizes an individual, group, or organization for their community contribution, expressed through literacy, visual or performing arts, cultural diversity, or heritage education.

The City of Fort St. John partnered with Ms. Mervyn’s ArtHouse to create beautiful burlap bouquets for kids to take home for a little home art project.

Kits had all the necessary materials, and Ms. Mervyn posted a video on her YouTube page with step-by-step instructions for kids to follow along from their homes.

The kits were quite popular, by 3:30 p.m. Thursday, all kits had been picked up from the Visitor Centre at Pomery Sports Centre.
