VICTORIA, B.C. – The Province will be conducting an emergency alert test on Wednesday afternoon.

At 1:55 p.m. (Pacific Time), an alert will be broadcasted on radio, tv, and any compatible wireless devices. The province says this will be conducted as part of the national Alert Ready system to improve public safety in an emergency.

The biannual test of the system launched across the province on April 6th, 2018. The testing assists in identifying any adjustments that need to be made during an actual emergency.

Testing was scheduled for May 2020 however was cancelled across Canada due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
