POUCE COUPE, B.C. – The Village of Pouce Coupe is looking to fill two council seats.

The seats were previously filled by Ken Drover, who resigned in February and Donna White who resigned earlier this month.

To be qualified for office, the nominee must be a Canadian Citizen, 18 years of age or older by voting day on July 10, be a resident of British Columbia for at least six months, and not disqualified under the Local Government Act or any other enactment from being nominated for, being elected to or holding the office, or be otherwise disqualified by law.

Those wishing to run for a seat on council are asked to fill out a nomination form and submit them in person, mail, fax, or email by June 4th.

Nomination forms are available at the Village of Pouce Coupe office during business hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., starting May 25th and ending on June 4th.

Drover sent in his resignation letter to the village following Mayor Lorraine Michetti’s controversial social media activity. White reasoning was not specified in her resignation letter.
