CHETWYND, B.C – BC Hydro will begin relocating an overhead powerline section along Jackfish Lake Road next week.
The company will construct a new line on the road on the south end of Jackfish Lake. The section currently runs through a gravel pit.
The Peace River Regional District says traffic will be impacted during the two stages of on-site work.
Vegetation is being cleared along the road from April 20th to 30th. Then, on May 15th and July 31st, line construction crews will begin relocating the powerline. Flaggers/traffic control will be present throughout the project.
The work will take place Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to as late as 6 p.m.
When the relocation process is complete, a planned power outage will be required to disconnect the old line and connect the new line.
Affected residents will be informed two weeks before the outage date, which will be confirmed at the end of construction.
