FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – Environment Canada has issued a winter storm warning for the B.C. Peace Region with hazardous winter conditions expected.

A cold front will be moving across the northeastern part of the province leading to snow in the Peace region Friday night. Heavy snow will be starting near midnight, accompanied by strong northerly winds.

Total snowfall amounts between 10 to 20 cm are expected, with snow tapering off to flurries by late Saturday morning.

Surfaces like highways, roads, walkways, and parking lots may become difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow.

Visibility may be suddenly reduced or at times near zero with heavy and blowing snow.

Make sure to check DriveBC for road conditions.
