VICTORIA, B.C. – According to data from the British Columbia Centre for Disease Control, Peace River North had 56 new cases from March 28th to April 3rd, while Peace River South added 115 new cases.
From March 21st to 27th, Peace River North had just 17 new cases while Peace River South added 92 cases.
The growth in case numbers prompted Dawson Creek Mayor Dale Bumstead to appeal to Northern Health for an accelerated vaccine rollout in the community.
The BC CDC also released the geographic distribution of COVID-19 by local health area’s cumulative case count.
Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Peace River North has accumulated 746 total cases. Peace River South has amassed 548 cases since January 2020.
