VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 39 new cases Thursday, dropping the active case count to 297.
There are 30 people in hospital, 13 of whom are in Critical Care beds.
The region confirmed three COVID-19 related deaths Thursday, bringing the total to 124.
There have been 6,043 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health Region. Of those, 5,612 have since recovered.
British Columbia added 832 new cases of COVID-19 Thursday, raising the active case count to 7,571.
There are 296 British Columbians in hospital due to COVID-19, 79 of whom are in Critical Care beds.
The province confirmed five COVID-19 related deaths Thursday, bringing the total to 1,463.
Since last March, British Columbia has recorded 100,880 positive cases of COVID-19. Of those, 91,732 have since recovered.
Starting Thursday, British Columbians can visit long-term care homes with significantly relaxed restrictions.
Family members can now touch loved ones while following necessary precautions like wearing a mask and sanitizing hands.
Under the updated guidelines, two adults and one child may visit a long-term care home resident and there are no restrictions on visit duration or frequency.
