CALGARY, AB. – Former MP for Prince George – Prince River – Northern Rockies, Jay Hill, is Interim Leader of the west-only Maverick Party and has announced three candidates who will be running in the upcoming federal election.

Hill has announced that Dave Jeffers, Mark Wilcox, and Dave Robinson will be running for the Maverick Party.

“Canada’s fixed election date isn’t for another two years, Mr. [Justin] Trudeau is determined to call an election, hoping the missteps of the Conservative Party will result in a four-year majority government mandate. Maverick Party must be ready with strong, credible candidates, ready to run and win in the federal election,” says Hill.

Dave Jeffers is a Fort St. John resident who will be running in Hill’s former riding of Prince George – Peace River – Northern Rockies. Jeffers is a local businessman with a vast career with science-based companies working to improve all aspects of responsible resource development.

“I have developed a deep respect for nature and the environment and the need to preserve our country and the West for future generations while recognizing the need for fiscal prudence. Our western way of life has had a profound impact on my perspective.”

Mark Wilcox will be representing Red Deer Mountainview, while Dave Robinson will be representing Calgary Rocky-Ridge.

The Maverick Party was launched in September 2020, evolving from WEXIT, as a way to represent the best interests of Western Canadians.
