SURREY, B.C. – FortisBC Energy Inc. received approval from the BC Utilities Commission (BCUC) to maintain the cost of gas rates for current customers until June 30th, 2021, including customers in Fort Nelson.
Customers won’t be seeing a change to the cost of gas on their bills. The BCUC and FortisBC review the rates every quarter to ensure the costs are accurately reflecting the cost of purchasing the commodity for delivery to customers.
Diane Roy, Vice President of Regulatory Affairs with FortisBC says, “We understand that energy costs are an important decision in household budgets. Our priority remains to deliver safe and reliable energy to our customers while working to keep rates as low as possible. When it comes to the cost of natural gas, we don’t make a profit from it. Our customers pay exactly what we pay.”
As of April 1st, Fort Nelson customers won’t see a change to their current approved cost of $2.999 per gigajoule (GJ).
