FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – A filter has been installed in the Boundary Water Station to improve the taste of water.
On Friday, the Peace River Regional District announced the carbon filter’s installation on the distribution line of the fill station.
The filter removes residual chlorine once the water is filtered and disinfected, which means bacterial growth could redevelop if stored for a long period of time.
The PRRD reminds residents that there are bottle fill wait times if the tank loader is full to ensure the water is disinfected before filling.
