VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region added 20 new COVID-19 cases Wednesday, bringing the active case total to 264.
There are 34 people in hospital, and 12 are in Critical Care.
The region confirmed one COVID-19 related death Wednesday. In total, there have been 105 confirmed deaths.

Since last spring, B.C. has a total of 4,437 cases, and 4,057 of those have recovered.
The province recorded 456 new cases Wednesday, bringing the active case count to 4,668.
There are 237 people in hospital, and 64 are in Critical Care.
The province confirmed two COVID-19 related deaths Wednesday. In British Columbia, 1,338 COVID-19 related deaths have occurred.
There have been 78,278 cases in B.C. since last spring, and 72,219 of those have recovered.
The CDC released the weekly geographic distribution of COVID-19 by local health area for February 14th to 20th.
Peace River North confirmed 31 cases, while Peace River South had 22 new cases.
Provincial health officer Dr. Bonnie Henry said Tuesday that she has expanded the number of healthcare professionals that can administer the COVID-19 vaccine.
Added to the vaccination workforce are dentists, paramedics, midwives, pharmacy technicians, and retired nurses.
The province plans to open 172 vaccination sites to prepare for immunization of the general population.
