VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region confirmed on Tuesday that 66 new cases of COVID-19 were detected, bringing the active case total for the region to 305.

There are 41 people in hospital, 12 of those are in ICU.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, there have been 104 COVID-19 related deaths in the region.

Out of a total 4,417 positive cases in the region, 3,993 have recovered.

Across B.C, 559 new cases were recorded Tuesday, making the active case total  4,677.

There are 238 people hospitalized in the province, 69 of those in ICU beds.

One COVID-19 related death was recorded in British Columbia Tuesday. Since March 2020, 1,336 deaths have been recorded.

Over the course of the pandemic, there have been 77,822 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in B.C, and 71,753 have recovered.

Northern Health confirmed on their website COVID-19 exposure notices at schools in districts 59 and 60.

North Peace Secondary School had an exposure on February 16th and 17th.

École Frank Ross Elementary in Dawson Creek had an exposure on February 16th.

Dawson Creek Secondary School’s South Peace Campus had an exposure on February 16th and 17th.
