VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region confirmed 99 new cases over the weekend, with 23 of those cases coming from Sunday to Monday. The active case total in the region is 299.

There are 39 people in hospital, 13 of those are in Critical Care.

There were two COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend. Since last spring, 104 deaths have been recorded in the region.

Out of 4,351 total cases, 3,933 have recovered.

The province recorded 1,425 new cases over the weekend. There were 501 cases between Friday and Saturday, 475 cases between Saturday and Sunday, and 449 cases from Sunday to Monday. The active case total for B.C. is 4,560.

Out of 223 people in hospital, 66 are in Critical or Intensive Care.

The province confirmed eight COVID-19 related deaths over the weekend, for a provincial total of 1,335.

Out of 77,263 provincial cases, 71,313 have recovered.

Northern Health posted to its website Monday that four different exposure notices were sent to SD 60 schools.

Charlie Lake Elementary School had an exposure on February 8th.

École Central Elementary School in Fort St John had an exposure from February 9th to 12th.

Margaret Ma Murray had an exposure on February 11th, 12th, and 16th. Finally, Margaret Ma Murray had an additional exposure on February 17th and 18th.

According to Northern Health, if your child’s school has been notified of an exposure, no action is required unless you are contacted by Public Health or are otherwise directed by school officials.
