FORT ST. JOHN, B.C. – The Fort St. John Fire Department is currently investigating a garage fire at a home on Princess Crescent.

Fire trucks were dispatched to Princess Crescent around 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, blocking off a portion of the street to gain access to a fire hydrant.

When Energeticcity reporters arrived, one fire truck was blocking off access to Princess Crescent. Deeper into the crescent, five fire trucks, 19 firefighters, two command vehicles, and one ambulance are on the scene.

Chief Darrell Blades is at the residence and says no one was injured.  Blades adds the department had to cut open a closed garage door to allow for the release of smoke.

The cause of the fire is under investigation. Police were seen going door to door seeking information about the incident.

This is a developing story, more information will be released when it becomes available.
