DAWSON CREEK, B.C. –  Northern Lights College is winding down interviews for its agriculture labour market study.

The State of the Agriculture Labour Trends and Needs in Northeast British Columbia is a study that develops a broader picture of the issues and challenges related to labour availability within the agriculture industry in Northeast B.C.

With guidance from an advisory committee,  R.A Malatest & Associates Ltd. has worked to complete over 40 interviews with representatives from the northeast. Surveys with agribusinesses are still ongoing and help develop the broader picture of what the current labour force is like. The survey will also help to grasp a better understanding of anticipated changes expected over the next decade.

NLC’s next steps will be to analyze the data and report any findings and recommendations to the advisory committee.

The study will conclude in June 2021.
