FORT NELSON, B.C. – A climate change webinar is being offered to Northeast B.C. through the Fraser Basin Council.
Northeast BC: Resilience, Climate and the Future focuses on the number of extreme weather events and the related impacts on the north in recent years.
Local and regional authorities in the northeast have been working to strengthen resilience over the years as partners in the Northeast Climate Resilience Network.
Partners involved in the NCRN are the City of Fort St. John, the City of Dawson Creek, the District of Tumbler Ridge, the District of Chetwynd, the Northern Rockies Regional Municipality, and Northern Health.
The webinar will discuss the science behind climate change projections, regional climate projections for the Northeast, the vulnerabilities that communities in the north face, and the resilience work being done on-the-ground.
Presenters on the webinar will be Kari Tyler and Arelia Schoeneberg of Pacific Climate Impacts Consortium, Erica Crawford of SHIFT Collaborative, and Cait Murphy of the Fraser Basin Council.
