VICTORIA, B.C. – The Northern Health Region recorded 37 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases to 444.

There are 14 people in hospital in the region,  and 10 are in Critical Care.

There were three COVID-19 related deaths recorded Tuesday. Since last spring, there have been 90 deaths in the Northern Health Region.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 3,849 cases have been recorded in the region. Of those, 3,290 have recovered.

The province recorded 435 new cases of COVID-19 Tuesday, bringing the number of active cases to 4,393.

Out of 241 people in hospital due to COVID-19, 68 are in Critical Care.

There were four COVID-19 related deaths recorded Tuesday. Since last spring, there have been 1,263 deaths in British Columbia.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, 71,387 cases have been recorded in the province. Of those, 65,618 have recovered.

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced new measures for anyone crossing the border by land Tuesday. Anyone who shows up at a land border will be required to have documents showing a COVID-19 test was done in the last 72 hours before seeking entry. These measures will take effect February 15th.
