VICTORIA, B.C. – The province reported 52 new cases in the Northern Health Region over the past 24 hours.

As of Thursday, there are 397 active cases in the region.

Out of 20 people in hospital, there are 16 people in Critical Care.

No deaths were reported in the region. The total number of COVID-19 related deaths since last spring is 85.

There have been 3,610 total cases since last year, and 3,115 people have recovered in the Northern Health Region.

There were 465 new cases of COVID-19 recorded across British Columbia Thursday, bringing the active case count to 4,447.

There are 257 people in hospital, and 76 of those are in ICU.

The province recorded 6 new COVID-19 related deaths, bringing the total to 1,240.

Since March 2020, 62,078 people have recovered from a total 69,245 COVID-19 cases across British Columbia.

The Province has announced new enhanced health and safety measures in K-12 schools and announced more federal funding.

All middle, secondary school students and all K-12 staff are required to wear non-medical masks in all indoor areas, including when in learning groups.

For those students in elementary, the wearing of masks indoors is still a personal choice.
