VICTORIA, B.C. – Health officials reported 34 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northern Health Region on Wednesday.
This brings the active case total to 365.
In the region, there are 18 people in hospital, 17 of those are in Intensive Care.
There were five deaths reported, bringing the total number of COVID-19 related deaths in the region to 85.
A total of 3,100 cases have recovered out of 3,558 COVID-19 cases in the region since last spring.
Peace River North recorded 25 COVID-19 cases between Jan. 24th to 30th, which is down six cases from the week prior.
In Peace River South, there were 13 cases reported and 23 cases in Fort Nelson.
Health officials reported 414 new cases of COVID-19 across the province on Wednesday. There are 4,426 active cases in British Columbia.
Out of 278 people currently in hospital, 80 are in Critical Care.
There have been 16 new COVID-19 related deaths in the province, bringing the total number of deaths to 1,234 since March 2020.
Across B.C., 68,780 total cases have been reported, and 61,643 people have recovered since last March.
