VICTORIA, B.C – The Northern Health Region reported 57 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the active case count to 509.
Out of 43 people currently in hospital, 15 are in the critical care.
One death was reported in the last 24 hours. A total of 67 people have died due to COVID-19 in the region since March 2020.

Of the 3,391 total cases of COVID-19, 2,790 have recovered.
In a social media post on Friday, the District says the employee had no contact with members of the public.
As a precaution, the District office was closed on Friday and will open again on Monday.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau announced tougher restrictions on international travel today.
Beginning Sunday, major Canadian airlines will suspend service to sun destinations including the Caribbean and Mexico until the end of April.
All international passenger, private, and charter flights will only be permitted to land at one of four major airports: Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto, and Montreal.
Provincial health officials reported 514 new cases of COVID-19, bringing the total active case count to 4,557.
There are 74 people in ICU beds out of 292 total hospitalizations.
The province reported five new COVID-19 related deaths. The total number of deaths in B.C. is 1,189.
There have been 66,779 cases since the start of the pandemic, and 59,551 have recovered.
