FORT ST. JOHN, B.C – According to BC Hydro, a Site C worker has passed away due to the COVID-19 virus.
Spokesperson, David Conway, confirmed on Monday that the company learned of the death over the weekend. The person worked for a Site C contractor.
“This case was concluded to have been from a community transmission and not the result of an onsite transmission,” says Conway.
“Our deepest sympathies go out to individual’s family, friends and co-workers. Out of respect for the person’s family, we will not provide any further information at this time. “
The site has reported 40 cases since March.
As of Jan. 25th, there are seven active cases, and out of 942 in camp, three workers are currently isolating.
