VICTORIA, B.C. – Applications are now open for the BC Parks Student Ranger Program.

The program is funded by both federal and provincial governments and consists of 12 crews of four student rangers. They’ll focus on ecosystem restoration, invasive species control, outdoor education, trail building, and infrastructure maintenance.

Locally, Fort St. John is on the list of locations searching for rangers.

The Program is offered to young adults aged 18 to 30 enrolled in full-time studies.

Students interested in working outdoors and playing a main role in the natural environment practices can now apply.

The program offers 48 students training and employment opportunities within BC Parks. Hands-on work experience will be provided through different projects relating to conservation, recreation, community outreach, and Indigenous relations.

The applicants have until February 21st to apply.
