UPDATE: As of 7:30 p.m., Dawson Creek has two outages with 490 customers affected, Fort St. John has two outages with eight customers affected, and Hudson’s Hope has one outage with 112 customers affected.

Heavy winds are causing significant damage across northern B.C.

As of 5:50 p.m., BC Hydro outages have affected, in total, around 600 BC Hydro customers in Dawson Creek, 440 in Hudson’s Hope, and 20 in Fort St. John.

Crews have been investigating outages and repairing downed power lines as earlier as 4:20 p.m. this afternoon.

South of Golata Creek Road in Dawson Creek has the second most outages in the north with 436. Hudson’s Hope has the third-highest with 328 outages East of Canyon Drive.

In total, 2375 customers are being effected with 35 outages in northern B.C.
